Well known Port Elizabeth muso’s, Claire Harmse and Andrew Warneke have teamed up to form a unique band made up of just bass, guitar and voice. Although the instruments are few, the talented duo creates a very full, unique and vibey sound – giving life to well known cover songs and adding a few of their own creations into the mix.
“We were tired of doing the same-old, same-old with cover songs,” says singer, Claire Harmse. “So we’ve decided to add our own creativity to everything we play.”
Bass player, Warneke, uses his instrument in a way that has never been seen before in Port Elizabeth. “I use a technique of playing the bass so that it maintains the traditional bass line but also provides a kind of ‘electric guitar’ sound to the songs.” He was the only bassist in the Eastern Cape to be invited to perform live at the national Bass Day held in Johannesburg last year.
Don’t miss out on the unique sounds of 2ché, who will be performing live at Balizza every Wednesday evening from September 01 between 19h00 and 22h00.
