If you are a fan of Armageddon, Apocalypse and End of the World movies then this one is definitely for you. “Dr Adrian Helmsley” discovers that the earth’s core is heating up at an abnormal rate in 2010 and tries to warn everyone of what is coming. As per usual not everybody listens.

The special effects were awesome, which kind of made up for the lenghty 2 and a half hours we had to sit through. They could have done everything in 1 hour 45 minutes if you ask me.
As like Noah did in Biblical times “Arks” are built to save the human race from extinction, but at a hefty 1 Billion Euros per ticket. This was typical of humans… to still try and make some cash out of the end of the world… Yes they had to have money to build the “arks”, but please… to let the nobodies of the world perish just because they didn’t have the cash… Shame on us…
If you are going to be watching this, you will be surprised at the very end…
Overall not a bad movie

Again, the kiddies will love this one. The Girl chipmunks or should I say Chipettes are very cute. Adults going to watch this with the kiddies might be a bit disappointed as it follows pretty much the same story as the first movie. Dave (Jason Lee) almost never features in the movie, which was also disappointing. After he is involved in an on stage accident the Chipmunks get left in the care of Dave’s cousin Toby which is more interested in his video games than looking after them.

The only real difference here is that the Chipmunks are sent to school and there they discover the challenges of High School especially when you are only 8 inches tall in a normal human school. Still a good movie for the kiddies to go and watch however.

If you are a MJ fan then you really must watch this movie. They have taken the rehearsals for the actual concert and made it into a movie. All I can say is that MJ was a legend and will always be. During the movie you see all the dance moves and some of the effects that would have been used in the concert, brilliant.

This would have been the best concert of his by far. Michael was a perfectionist, but yet never got angry or p’d off when something didn’t go quite as planned. Every time he would say, ” This is why we have rehearsals”. MJ had his weird and wacky ways, but overlooking all of that he was a very generous and loving person and a lot of people just seem to see the worst in others.
Look at how is fans stood by him during the trials, people accepted him for who he was, a legendary musician and performer. So if you are a fan then do yourself the favour.

I enjoy most animated movies and I enjoy watching them on the big screen, but let’s just say that this one I would have to recommend waiting for the DVD to be released before spending the R33 at the cinema.

It’s the same old Scrooge story with the ghost from Christmas Past, Present and Future. Don’t get me wrong the animation was very good, but story… it has been done so many times over. At the end we were saying that maybe we should rather have watched the Michael Jackson Movie, which will be the next movie we will go see.
As for kiddies going to watch this movie… there were some scary and confusing scenes and is not recommended for kids under 10 as the age restriction guides. A few kiddies in the audience last night would certainly have had some nightmares.
