Alice in Wonderland. What can I say… I wouldn’t say it was a bad movie, but also not all that great. It’s not one of those movies that when it ends up on M-Net you’ll watch again. Not really the Alice I expected it to be where she has to slay a dragon type creature… Again another Disney film that is not really “fun” to watch. I would think twice if you were planning on taking the kids to watch this as there are some nightmarish scenes in this one. The 10M Age restriction should rather have been 13PG.

One thing I did enjoy about a movie like this one is you can just see how powerful the imagination can be. So many different creatures being born out of mind. Also the idea of going off to a magical imaginary place to get away from real life sounds like a good one in this crazy, busy, stressful world we live in today.

Johnny Depp’s performance in this is brilliant as expected, but for the rest of the cast… not so sure. Mia Wasikowska does not make for a good Alice and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen fail to impress.

So if you are a fan of weird and wonderful then check this out, but if you are wanting to see the original Alice in Wonderland story then give it a miss.
